Liberal Arts

All of our live, on-line Liberal Arts Curriculum classes are designed to offer the heart of a classical education integrated into a single course.  Taught in the spirit of Orthodox Christianity through a Charlotte Mason style pedagogy, the courses span seven levels, each on a two-year rotation, for a total of 14 years of unique material.  Classes meet four days per week, and class sizes are limited so that interactions within the classroom stay personal.

Reading

  • Read the Great Books which have shaped civilization
  • Follow a timeline of ancient cultures and ideas
  • Enjoy a wide variety of texts, including epic, history, philosophy, poetry, drama, and oratory
  • Form the scholarly habit of keeping a reading journal

Discussion

  • Explore the "big ideas" in classic texts
  • Answer questions leading to definition, example and comparison
  • Participate in substantive and thoughtful discussions

Composition

  • Learn the modes of persuasion--ethos, logos, and pathos
  • Compose legal, political, and ceremonial speeches
  • Receive helpful, live feedback on your writing assignments
