Back to School!

Adam Lockridge

Dear Friends and Families of St. Raphael School:

It's about time to go back to school!

Well, you might already be back in school, and I know at least a few of you who keep going even through the summer, but at St. Raphael School we are a little less than a month away from launching our 2017/2018 courses!

I'm more excited than I've ever been about our programs--Catechism, Liberal Arts, and Greek. We have added some amazing new teachers, and we are learning all the time how to better use the online tools to connect with and serve the families who have enrolled in our courses.

St. Raphael School begins the Fall term on September 5th, but now is the time to enroll! We have room in all of our courses except for Level 6 Catechism. But don't let that stop you from getting on the waiting list for that one as we are discussing opening a new section.

Here are a few highlights:

- Level 1 Liberal Arts Course: This summer I had the privilege of spending several days with Elizabeth Johnson. She graduated her own children and is now about to graduate her first grandchild from homeschooling. That means she has a lot of experience! She will be sharing that with parents of the Level 1 course with the new "parent support" option. Even if you have been homeschooling for awhile, Elizabeth (along with her daughter, Celeste Gregor), has a lot of wisdom to share. You can think of her as your personal homeschooling mentor.

- New Early Greek course: If you have an Elementary-aged child who is not quite ready for a "Elementary Greek" course (usually recommended for middle school), check out our new "Early Greek" course. Recommended for ages 7-11, this course will focus on the Greek alphabet, basic pronunciation, and key words that are important to our Faith.

-We are considering adding a music class this year, a Byzantine Chant course for older students that would integrate the history of Orthodox music. If you are interested in enrolling, please reply and let us know!

-We have two unique opportunities for those who enroll in St. Raphael School courses. You can get a special 10% off coupon to purchase a Morningtide to Eventide planner; and you can get a special 15% discount on all electives and add-on courses from Classical Learning Resource Center. If you have already enrolled and want to claim one of those coupons, reply to this e-mail.

May God bless your school year, whatever your plans, and may your children grow to love Christ and His Church with all of their hearts!
